I have been working at the pottery since 1976, initially joining the manufacturing team before moving into the warehouse team and finally into sales. Working in every department across the business has given me an in-depth knowledge of the processes and techniques we use here, which lets me offer the best advice to our customers on everything from shape to glaze choices.
I look after a number of key accounts, including chain restaurants, independent establishments and distributors, working with them to create unique tableware ranges, as well as overseeing the development of bespoke ideas to meet their exact needs. Our clients include The Pig Hotels, Wagamama, Frankie & Benny’s, Bella Italia, The Conduit, Coya and Oblix – each client has very different wants and needs and it’s great to have such a variety of clients to work with.
I often find our clients are as excited and passionate about what we do as we are, and that comes down to the fact that we treat our tableware like art; just like they do their menus and their establishments. I work with everyone – chefs to Managing Directors – to get a variety of opinions and ideas that allows us to create the perfect tableware range.
Surrey Ceramics is unique in its field. I enjoy the creativity that comes from our unique pick and mix system that gives customers the chance to pair any of our glazes with any of our products, as well as our ability to create more unique, bespoke pieces.
