Martha Ortiz the award winning Mexican Chef has just launched her first London restaurant called Ella Canta in the 5 star Intercontinental Hotel, Park Lane.
Surrey Ceramics were happy to be invited in to discuss the the new restaurant, the vision and brief for the tableware that would be required based on the exciting Mexican food that would be presented. Following a meeting with Martha and working with the team at IHG the company set to work.
Martha is a celebrated and well know chef in Latin america and author of numerous books on Latin American food. Her restaurant in Mexico ranks in the top 50 in the world and Martha has set her sights on bringing to London the Mexican food for which she has become so renowned.
The pottery developed a number of new shapes and also some new glazes that evoke the culture and vibrancy of Mexico and combined with the culinary delight of Martha’s cuisine it is a feast for all the senses.
